BBC VISION 2022 #VISION2022

Since I was a child I have been obsessed with TV, that magic box in the living room which is the hub of entertainment, excitement and imagination and a place where you could go to if you were seeking adventure, laughs or an education. I have adored radio for such a long time, a voice from that magic box in your kitchen or your bedroom, to help tune you into the day and is there when you need to tune out. And the BBC is a corporation the provides the UK and the world with both of these services and more. I have often thought of the BBC as a distant, magical land where anything is possible. You can be fighting an evil sorceress with Merlin, chilling with your friends on Blue Peter, revising like a maniac on BBC Bitesize, or listening to the latest hits with Nick Grimshaw

When I received the email from my tutor Caroline, about a conference being held over 2 days within the BBC HQ at Manchester MediaCity. The place that houses BBC Children’s, BBC Learning, BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Sport, BBC Radio Manchester and BBC Breakfast as well as the BBC Philharmonic and parts of the Research and Development, Drama and Comedy. But after I requested to be a part of the team that would be going along to one of the conference days, I received a response that said something along the lines of , “I regret to inform you that all of the available places have already been filled’, after reading this line I felt distraught that I had missed out on a great opportunity… the greatest opportunity. I just decided to forget about it and keep moving, I turned my attention to my University work and to kick starting my own career. I had essays to write, presentations to create and then on top of the University work I had to work on my own talk-show, Ours, based in my home city of Liverpool and a documentary that I needed to do research for.

A few days passed I noticed a email from Caroline. ‘Here is the list of people going’ I thought to myself, ‘why would she send me this list? To tease me? Punish me? Make me feel worse about missing the opportunity?’. I opened this email and proceeded to read the list just to see who was having this incredible opportunity. And there it was, MY NAME! Never has my name looked so good in a email, I had to do a double take. Then I continued to scroll down through the email to see who was going to attend the next day. And there it was again the same beautiful 5 letters that spell out my name. A-A-R-Y-N. I am going to BOTH days?!

I don’t think i have ever conjured up a grin that big in my 20 years of life. I was going to the BBC, I was going to MediaCity and as if that was not enough I was going to meet some of the decision makers within the BBC some of their executive teams, the people that decide what is going on the air and what isn’t. NERVOUS!

Over the two days of the event we talked about software’s and hardware’s that will be coming into play over the next 8 years. SUPER exciting stuff. Then we went on the talk about the future from a journalistic perspective, talking about the variety of tools and rules that journalists of the future will be using and abiding by.

The registration began at 9:15 in Manchester, and that meant we had to leave Huddersfield at 07:45 to try and miss the morning traffic, and that meant getting up at 6ish. YAY! Early mornings!! But it was worth it. I got up (just in time) got dressed, wore my smartest clothes and stuffed as many business cards in to my bag as was possible, with the intention to shoot them all over the BBC Offices like ninja stars, ‘Network Ninja Mode’.

TUESDAY 01st APRIL 2014: (Happy April Fools Day)

When I arrived and I was completely taken aback but the immensity of what was happening. Me a boy from Toxteth, Liverpool was walking into a place were they broadcast, influence and entertain people all over the nation. I honestly began to give thanks to whatever divine power was at work right now, I was completely amazed. I kept thinking that I was going to wake up back in Liverpool in my bed and realise that these past few years had just been a dream, it would have been one sick and twisted April Fools day prank.

As I was guided through the day by the lovely team of volunteers to each of the presentations. I was bombarded with one inspirational story after the next, one success story after the next, but no two stories were the same. Each person had found their own way into the career that was right for them. I was surprised by how many people did not have degree’s, did not set out to be in the BBC, and previously did not know many of the softwares that I thought you had to be an expert in before they even considered to hire you.

Ralph Rivera, this is a name that I will not soon forget. Ralph is the BBC Director of Future Media and after we feasted on some ‘luxury’ sandwiches and fruit that were provided by our gracious hosts. We had the chance to meet him. His entire presentation was an experience that I will never forget but there is one slide that he showed that I will hold onto for as long as possible. He showed us a photograph of him as a youth, describing his childhood as being ‘hard at times’ and right next to it was a photograph of him shaking the hand of Queen Elizabeth II. He said, ‘…if you remember nothing from this day, the one thing I want you to remember is this slide…’ Dreams can come true ladies and gentleman, this man is proof.

James Everton, a commercial radio presenter. Despite looking a great deal younger than he is, James has one of the most impressive résumé’s I have ever heard. He has hosted tons of his own radio shows and to hear that from someone of my own age was inspiring and motivating. After he gave his talk I couldn’t help but feel like I had a lot in common with Mr. Everton. After speaking with him one on one he took my contact details and I have emailed him regarding some possible work experience he got back to me within days and was quite enthusiastic about getting me into the studio to have a look around. EXCITED!

While I was at MediaCity we got the chance to preview some up coming technology, we had a chance to preview The Oculus. For those of you who have no idea what an Oculus is, its basically something that takes watching your TV to a WHOLE other level. It takes what you are watching and quite literally puts you in the middle of it. The Oculus is a great pair of goggles and tracks your movements and allows you to view the scene in whatever way/angle you want to. Kind of like a virtual realIty. Mind-blowing right? The guy that presented this to us, Ian Forrester, was a black man. As a young black man myself, it was so encouraging to see someone who looked like me who made it into the magic box that I idolised as a child. He travelled to the magical land where I so wanted to be. He was also dyslexic. I am not saying this makes his struggle greater than anyone else’s but to overcome something like dyslexia I imagine he would have needed a very strong character and I admire that. So inspiring! Thank you Ian

To close the day we had a University Session. This was quite a daunting experience, because no matter where I looked I was confronted with the faces of people who I was competing against for a job. These are the people that I will need to outshine, over step and bypass on the ladder to reach my dreams.

On my way home I had a ‘Eureka’ moment, I need not concern myself with what everyone else is doing, my priority is me. I just need to look at what i am doing and just try and achieve my dreams. If I find myself doing something, just because I want to write it on my CV then that something is something that I shouldn’t be doing. I just need to allow my instincts to take control and listen to my soul, because they have a better idea of where I am going than I do.

WEDNESDAY 02nd APRIL 2014: The Big Finale

As the next day began, I think I was even more excited than yesterday … if that was even possible. More of my classmates where going today I couldn’t wait to share this experience with them. We even left Huddersfield slightly earlier.

I still cannot believe how lucky Stephen Berry is, I truly hope he achieves his dreams because a major door has just been opened to him. People would beg, scratch and steal for an opportunity like this. And now is the time for him to run through this open door and grab this opportunity with both hands and both legs. GO STEPHEN!

I also went to a presentation from a Senior Broadcast Journalist from BBC Three and after his presentation was through I asked about some advice on getting into presenting for BBC Three. He told me the he likes his presenters to have at least 2-3 years of local TV presenting experience and he would like them to be able to write their own script. However, he did take my contact details and said that if I ever wanted some tips on how to better my show reel he would be more than happy to help me out.

When I walked into the BBC Quay House, to my right there was the reception desk and just beyond the desk was the BBC Breakfast couch. I sat on the couch and for a short period of time indulged myself in some role play. I was a big time presenter sipping out of the imaginary cup when I heard a couple of sniggers and giggles from behind me, the receptionists had gathered to watch my performance. Mortifying.

At the end of the day, just like yesterday, we had a University Session, and there were a fresh batch of faces all wanting the same thing I wanted and craved, a job at the BBC. But after my eureka moment from yesterday, it was less daunting. I know that I will succeed regardless of whether i get employed at the BBC at ITV at Channel 4 or not, I REFUSE to fail. Towards the end of all the speakers an old family friend Cheryl, BBC Executive gave a short speech about opportunities to help shape the future of BBC Three as it moves and evolves into being on online channel. WOW! After her speech she greeted me with a hug and a short catch up conversation and then invited me down to her office to talk business. WHAT WAS HAPPENING? But before I had a chance to leave a camera man, who had been filming the whole day, grabbed me and asked if I wouldn’t mind doing a piece to camera about my opinion day. Like I would say no, come on, of course I said yes.

When I was through being interviewed I went down to see Cheryl, she was sitting at a desk overlooking the BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sport, I was stunned, at a loss for words, but I had to pull myself together because the time had come to show her that I meant business. During our 30 minute long discussion she took me on, what I can only describe as a ‘private tour’. I got to see parts of the BBC that not many people get a chance to see, she opened up a whole new world for me. I was soaking in as much as my eyes could take. Unfortunately our conversation was cut short because my tutor had commitments that she needed to get back to Huddersfield for. So Cheryl and I parted ways, but not before she offered her help on my talk-show ‘Ours’ her words were,“If you want me to do a masterclass …or anything. I am there!’

As I left the BBC MediaCity, for what was hopefully not the last time, I couldn’t help be so grateful and astounded at what had just happened, and to think I very nearly never got the chance to go to one of these days, yet somehow I ended up going to two and meeting so many incredible people, learning things about myself and about how to further advance my career. This was an experience that I truly wish all my peers could of had. I wish others from different parts of the country could get a chance to experience this. As I got closer and closer to Huddersfield and my memories from the BBC drifted further and further into the past I was filled with a sense of motivation, no more sitting and waiting the time for action is now. Everything that is or was began with a dream, time to make my dreams a reality.

When I finally got through my front door late that night, and finished editing together the video. For some reason I decided I wanted to check my emails and what was in my inbox? an email from none other than, the team at Radio 1. WOW! Dreams here I come.

Jacqui Saburido – The Power of Forgiveness – Soul Story

Have  you ever held a grudge over someone for not calling you back or standing you up for the umpteenth. Are you still holding onto those feelings of rage against those bullies who put you down every day when you walked through the school gates. Can you still stand the sight of you ex-partner who betrayed you? Could you ever forgive them for what they did to you? Well Jacqui Saburido is a master of forgiveness, she knows that forgiveness has a power that can not be measured by anything. If you ever doubted the power of forgiveness allow this video below to show you just what forgiveness can do.

What did I tell you? After I watched this video I looked at the grudges and anger I held inside against people that had done me wrong and to be honest they all looked petty now. After I had looked at my past experiences and slowly but surely I am beginning to free myself from each of these feelings of hate and regret and each time I let one go there is more room in the heart and soul for love and happiness. Thank you Jacqui Saburido for teaching me the power of forgiveness.

Law of Attraction is for “weird folks” like me. It blows my mind how I speak on stage in front of thousands but growing up introverted I couldn’t hold a 2 minute conversation.
ONE THING CHANGED all that and I will share it with you.

I have said a lot of the same things I say today for years but NOBODY CARED. Now that I make more than a lot of NFL players and celebrities people listen. LOL

The crazy thing about it all is that I don’t even spend a lot of money though or do anything flashy. It’s just because my income is public information that I even care to share the fact.

My biggest passion in life is spreading higher consciousness awareness. I love things like The Law of Attraction, Meditation, Yoga, Qi-Gong (the art of cultivating vital energy) and studying and teaching hidden knowledge, etc.

A lot of people growing up called me weird because I was introverted and believed in things so different than the masses.

My heroes were not Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie nor did I even care about celebrity gossip. My hero’s were and still are people like Tony Robbins, Jiddu Krishnamurti, Bruce Lee, Lauryn Hill, Bob Proctor, Deepak Chopra, Esther Hicks, Wayne Dyer and Louise Hay, etc.

The truth is though I am bit weird, and I am totally fine with that.

My reality right now, I get to do basically anything that I desire. I speak on stages in front of thousands of people on a regular basis. When I “speak life into people” on stage the crowds hang onto every word I say and then I exit the stage to standing ovations. I can now do amazing things for my family that I have always desired to do. I often pay double what people ask for when they come help clean the house.

http://loa.hippiejedi.com/

Let me rewind for you real quick… Only 18 months ago I was struggling to pay my rent for $450 a month. Only 18 months ago I didn’t even feel like a full man. It would tear me apart that I couldn’t even afford to take my wife out for a nice meal on her birthday. People would often make fun of me when I would share with them about my big dreams.

People like Tony Robbins & Wayne Dyer had me believing that I could be anything I desired. I would share these visions with people and they would just laugh in my face. For 6 long years it looked like they were right. I failed and failed trying to make it big. At times, I can’t even lie because I started to doubt myself. Even with all the positive books I read it couldn’t help me because of my self doubt which was sabotaging my own success. (just keeping it real)

I remember one time specifically what “almost” made me quit on my dreams. It was coming close to Christmas and I told my wife we would go home for it. We are both big family people so it’s all good when we can go home for the holidays.

I was running an online business at the time. There was this tool that was meant to help me with my business. It was the price though of tickets to go home for christmas. The way they made it seem was that I would double my money really quickly with this tool.

Long story short I ended up actually losing all the money. Let me say that the argument with my wife was not pretty. She really had me feeling terrible about the decision that I made. In my mind I was doing this for US. Then she started crying, and with the holidays coming up it just tore me apart to see my wife like this. I really started asking the UNIVERSE, “Why are you punishing me?” “What have I done wrong?… I am good person.” I went to sleep that night in tears, ashamed and just disappointed in myself that I let my wife down. I gave her my word, so breaking this promise tore me apart.

I just really didn’t feel like a man because I wasn’t taken care of the responsibilities that I knew I could. I felt so drained that I put my heart and soul into my dreams but didn’t feel like I was getting anything back in return.

My wife was talking about having a baby and I would just make excuses why we couldn’t. I never really shared this publicly because it is so personal. In reality I was just scared of that type of responsibility. I mean, we could barely take care of ourselves and I was still asking my family for help when we came up short.

Bringing a baby into this world put pure fear into my heart. I wanted to raise my future child in the ways I desired. I don’t believe in the traditional medical system ways anyways because they disturb me. I didn’t want my child receiving forced vaccinations and putting all those corporate greed meds into their precious lil’ system. My wife and I decided we wanted a natural holistic birthing process outside of a hospital and I know they are not cheap.

I am not even into material objects really. I am not dumb, I understand how much mental stress having a lack of resources caused me. I could not reach my highest level of consciousness either while I am going to sleep and waking up thinking about things like… “How am I going to pay these bills and put food on the table tomorrow?”

This week I earned over $40,000 in a single day. That used to take me literally YEARS to earn especially back in 2010 when I was only earning $1,200 a month teaching English in China because we couldn’t afford to live in the USA. The money has not changed me really at all. I am just able to help a lot more people now.

I don’t wear fancy watches and my most expensive shoes are like $60. I bought a nice used car a couple months ago cash for $15,000. I could’ve bought a fancy car, but I am just not into it.

I am more into living for experiences and helping others than for material things. I am more about creating a legacy vs. buying things to impress others. There are things we do now though that we couldn’t do before.

We do fly first class, because it saves so much time when we are flying places and it’s definitely more comfortable. We are able to tip waitresses nicely now which feels so good. We are able to help friends and family in need. We are able to give back and pay it forward without asking for anything back in return. We are even able to set up future investments now.

We spend a lot on education, personal development and mentoring from people. We literally spend 5 figures a month to have advice from people who know more than us.

I believe the best investment you can make is in yourself. I always knew deep down inside I would accomplish something great. I just didn’t know how it was going to happen. While I loved all my heroes I never had the blueprint of how to achieve the success I visualized of living.

WHEN MY LIFE CHANGED………….

I am going to share 1 MAJOR thing which totally transformed my life.

That one thing was a MENTOR.

Once I found a mentor who cared and believed in me my life changed QUICKLY.

I loved everything that my heroes did and stood for but I couldn’t reach out to them. My mentor had everything that I desired. He had a mobile online business, he had time freedom, when he spoke people listened, he had respect, he had integrity and above all a really BIG heart.

At the time he was making in a day what I was making in a couple years. Thousands of people were craving for his time. I had to do something that made me stand out from the crowd. I was not going to be like 95% of the people. Most people just said to my mentor things like, “Hey can you help me be successful?” Me I thought differently… I thought about things like… “How can I help my mentor out?” and “What value could I bring to the table to benefit him?”

One thing I have learned is that the right information can take you to heights you never even imagined in record time. The wrong information has the same effect and can set you back YEARS.

I dropped my ego and told my mentor, “Whatever you tell me to do I will do” because the results I was manifesting in my life I was not enjoying.

I don’t care whatever it is you want to pursue, a mentor can share things with you to speed up your learning curve.

I was not like a leech either, my mentor would give me a set of instructions and I would go and knock them out and come back for more. I respected his time and he got that. He treated me like a leader from the start.

He expected greatness from me and saw more in me than I saw for myself. To be honest 18 months ago I just wanted to earn $5,000 a month and not stress about things. I couldn’t even see $10,000 in my near future.

He saw a lot in me and told me I could achieve much more. I didn’t even believe that when he told me that. It seriously was less than 2 months later from that conversation I had my first $26,142 month. My life has not been the same since, everything has just gone up from there. That was back in June of 2012 when I had my very first breakthrough month.

I had studied the greats for years and so I had a lot of the mindset and everything I needed. There was just small certain shifts I needed.

My mentored shared information that just blew my mind. Since that moment I have been on a mission to share it with everyone who deserved it. I struggled for so long and had experienced so much pain… so there was nothing I desired more than to help erase that pain for others.

If you want to find out in detail more information I created a website to show you just that…

http://loa.hippiejedi.com/

If not that is all good too I just hope you got some value out of my post.

Also on my site I will share with you how you can get a hold me personally too.

I do read my messages because I do really care. I am not the type of person who thinks he is too good to answer messages just because I make a lot of money. I never forget where I come from and who I am.

Love and Light,

Namaste my friend,

tsj

P.S. My wife is happily pregnant now, and so we have a baby Jedi on the way. It feels so GREAT to bring our future child into this world without stress the way they deserve. We are having an all natural water birth at an holistic birthing center and my wife and I couldn’t be any happier about that. Also we decided to be surprised and not find out if it’s a boy or girl until birth which makes things even more exciting.

There’s Something About Ellen

500px-Ellen

Ellen, Ellen, Ellen.

There is something about Ellen DeGeneres that just makes me so very happy. This is a woman who I would literally swim oceans for. I don’t understand why there aren’t more people like her in this world. If you don’t know who this woman is then you SERIOUSLY need to get out from under that rock that you are clearly living under.  Just bring you up to speed with who she is and what she does let me quickly go over everything Ellen.

So firstly she started out as a stand up comedian way back in the 80’s. Then in the 90’s she starred in her own self-titled sitcom from 1994 (the year I was born) right through to ’98.  During the fourth season her sitcom Ellen in 1997, DeGeneres came out publicly as a lesbian in an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show. In my opinion it seems that Ellen DeGeneres really came into her own after she stood in her truth and owned it. Many of my generation (the 90’s babies) will probably recognise her from ‘Finding Nemo’ where she played the amnesic loveable blue fish that goes by the name of Dory. This was where I was first introduced to Ellen and I must say it was love and first .. sound? She was bubbly, energetic and fun, and for me, little miss Dory stole that movie. It appears that Pixar agreed with me, because in the year 2016 a WHOLE movie dedicated to the character of Dory is going to be out in cinemas everywhere and this movie is going to be titled ‘Finding Dory’ and Ellenhas agreed to come back and play that role I am just so excited by that! She was a judge on the hit TV show American Idol, she has hosted both the Academy Awards and the Primetime Emmy’s. She has won thirteen Emmys and numerous other awards for her work and charitable efforts.

OK, so now your up to speed I really want you to understand why it is that Ellen is such an inspiration of mine. to mark her 1500th show the Ellen team put together a little montage of all of her best bits and this video truly embodies everything about Ellen which I just love and adore. So here is a challenge for you, try to see if you can make it to the end of this video without experiencing any kind of positive emotion. Take a look.

As you can see from this video she is such a positive force of energy in this universe. Every day I am going to strive to be a little more like her and find the joy in every thing I do and bring laughter and love everywhere I go, I hope that you do the same.

After seeing how well she is doing and observing how successful her show has become I began to wonder why her show is doing so great and why does everyone, including myself want to tune in and watch her. I do not watch Ellen on the daily, because her show does not broadcast over here but from the many clips that I have seen all over the internet, Ellen has yet to deliver any real ground breaking interviews. So if she isn’t delivering any REAL top quality journalistic style interviews what is making her so popular. Well I will tell you, her success is solely based on her kind nature her giving spirit and that beautiful smile, she makes us  laugh with happiness and cry with joy. Ellen is just being Ellen and THAT is the key to her success and the key to yours and by you being more of yourself. Thank you Ellen for teaching me that.

For more information on Ellen you can visit her website http://www.ellentv.com there you can find more thing Ellen.

World Kindness Day

Hands on a globe

Today is World Kindness Day – an annual day launched by ‘Secret Millionaire’ David Jamilly and UK Kindness Movement founder Louise Burfitt-Dons in a bid to make acts of kindness a greater part of everyday life in the UK. (The pair are currently lobbying the United Nations to recognise it as an official national day.)

What kind act have you done or will you do to help others or what has someone done for you?

World Kindness Day is exactly what it sounds like: a day dedicated to kindnesses, big and small. The holiday is the project of The World Kindness Movement, and can trace its start to the birth of the World Kindness Movement in Tokyo, in 1997. The day is observed in several countries around the world, according to Wikipedia, including Australia, Italy, Singapore, Canada, Japan and the United Arab Emirates. This year’s World Kindness Day falls not even a week after Typhoon Hainan devastated the Philippines, leaving more than 1,500 people dead. If you’re looking to keep the kindnesses going, the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation (http://www.randomactsofkindness.org  ) maintains a list of “kindness ideas,” which includes cleaning up graffiti, donating used books to your local library, and tutoring school children.

Observance is simple: be kind; or, even better, do something kind. Will you celebrate?

I think that this positively the most incredible idea for official national day that there is (aside from Christmas, Valentines and the other obvious). I do think this is only one of several days in a three hundred and sixty-five day year that can be devoted to pure kindness. I believe we owe it to ourselves with all the war memorials and the infinite moments of silence that we have to endure, in my opinion we owe it to ourselves to just be kind to one another and enjoy life. I am not saying it is not important to remember the holocaust and appreciate the lives lost during the wars I understand these are very important but WKD (World Kindness Day) will inspire people young and old and give us an excuse to just be cool with each other in a world where everyone seems to forget that we are all in this together. People seem to be so wrapped up in their own lives I think that having this national day would encourage people to step outside of their shells and look around them and see what they can do to bring a little happiness into someone else’s life. It does not even have to be a huge thing.

Kindness is the act or the state of being kind – ie. marked by goodness and charitable behaviour, mild disposition, pleasantness, tenderness and concern for others. It is known as a virtue, and recognized as a value in many cultures and religions.

I remember one time I was have THE WORST day, I am sure you have had them to. You know the ones where things just don’t seem to get any worse, you wake up on the wrong side of the bed, your room is a tip, you wear your scruffiest clothes, the weather is not on your side, you have puddles in your shoes, you have a headache, your phone just keeps going off,  and people (who aren’t really doing anything wrong) just get on your nerves. Well I was having one of this days and I was walking home in the pouring rain and I walked past this guy who was waiting at a bus stop. He was wearing some torn up jeans and a Jack Wills hoodie that was drenched through and  he looked straight into my eyes and smiled at me and said, “How are you?”. Now I know you where probably expecting some deep profound moment, but it was just the idea of a stranger who doesn’t know me and has no idea who I am, smiling at me with genuine kindness and compassion it completely turned my day around and I was, from that moment on, a lot happier. So something as simple and a genuine smile can completely change someones day. Being there to listen to someone, help out the elder with their bags, if you see someone struggling don’t hesitate to lend a helping hand, go see that family member who you have been avoiding, call that friend you have been feuding with and just bury the hatchet. You might as well, what have you REALLY got to lose.. its World Kindness Day.

Now go forth and be kind to one another!

The Guide To Change … by Iyanla Vanzant

IYANLA1. HAVE A VISION.

You can’t achieve something if you don’t know what it is! Maybe you want to start thinking more positively. The vision will give you something to focus on and writing it down will help you to stay in track

2. GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION TO BE DIFFERENT…

from how you’ve been in the past and what you think is expected of you. Answer the call from within to connect with what is true for YOU!

3. BEGIN WHERE YOU ARE, WITH WHAT YOU HAVE.

When you start a workout a trainer will tell you, “If you can’t touch your toes touch your knees, if you can’t touch your knees go for your hips.” So do what you can. And then…

4. PUSH

When your mind says”No!” you say yes (No, you can’t think positively about that plane train delay? Yes – 2 hours to yourself! – yes, yes you can.)

5. LIGHTEN UP YOUR ENLIGHTENMENT

Transformation doesn’t have to be deep, dark and mysterious. If you screw up fine – laugh at yourself, learn and move on.

This is Mr. Briere’s ‘Soul Story‘ that I came across on Facebook. All of the text below has been written by George himself, completely unedited and unfiltered. I want you to fully understand everything he writes about and this may inspire someone out there to make a change the same way that I have and the same way that he himself has. “I am SO TIRED of seeing all these SELF HELP books and GUIDES from people that are sad and miserable in reality.

A lot people are out here PREACHING the DREAM , but LIVING A NIGHTMARE.

I am not making a million dollars a month, and I don’t work only 2 hours a day. I think it is lost art of just being transparent online at times. A lot of people are living in a fairyland with over hyped promises.

I just spoke on stage in front of thousands of people sharing my journey. People around the country wanted to know how I started a successful personal development online business.

There is so much disappointment with guides and different online businesses because of all the false expectations that are out there. The world is changing and the online world is an amazing place to create a career that will last a lifetime.

Myself personally, I am huge believer in law of attraction and personal development. If you are not growing you are not moving forward in life. People back in the day like Jim Rohn, Zig Ziglar, Les Brown & Tony Robbins were groundbreaking in the field.

They really helped transform so many lives out there, not because they told people what they wanted to hear. They told people what they NEEDED to hear even if it was hard for them.

I now earn a strong 6 figures a year online working only 4 hours a day. There was a lot that happened to get to this stage. I want to be transparent with you and show you my journey on what it really took for me to get where I am at today. I’ll tell you right now it took hard work, trial and error, personal development and a mentor that really looked out for me. I will explain each of these in detail for you.

But before I do….

I want to share a little of my story with you. I feel its important for you to know where I am coming from so you can understand my journey better.

September 2012 I was broke and didn’t even know how I was going to provide for my family. I had just lost 2 income streams which totally devastated our bank account. Now let me be very clear about something. Although I was broke as a joke, I wasn’t desperate. We just had more month left at the end of the money.

September 2012 was also the same month my wife broke the news to me that she was pregnant with our first child. Talk about a wake up call. I am a confident guy, but at that very moment the type of fear that took over my body was intense.

In life, it’s not what happens to you, it is how you react to it. I had been an employee for many years and back in 2008 when I got laid off and dropped without any warning or reason, I knew I would never put my trust in another corporate company or any JOB ever again.

I was just a number to them vs a person with a soul. They didn’t care about me or my family they only cared about the bottom line.

At the time we were living in a crappy old small house built in 1890 and every spring and when it would rain for more than 2 days the basement would flood, not to mention there was no space for a nursery.

What did I do, that made me more uncomfortable than ever? I made promise to my wife that we would move into a new house with space for a nursery before our baby was born.

I had no idea at the time how was I going to accomplish a feat that was bigger than anything I had ever done before. I was not about to break a promise to my wife and my unborn child.

I knew for a LONG TIME I wanted a successful online business. I wanted freedom and flexibility to do what I wanted, when I wanted and wherever I wanted. I knew there was a lot of junk out there but I guess like God says, “You take a step towards me and I will take step towards you.”

1.) Found a Mentor

Once I opened up my mind and my heart I came across a mentor that would forever change my life.

This guy was just different in so many ways.

He didn’t “put on” any type of persona or look to impress. He was just himself it was just refreshing to me. He was earning as much as professional athletes but he didn’t wear any fancy clothes or drive a bentley or anything.

One thing I noticed a lot was that he treated everyone the same. That was a big thing for me, because I knew other people who were big shots and it was not the same. They made people feel like it was big deal just say hello to them.

This guy has thousands of people all the time craving for his time. He didn’t get successful just wasting time with just anyone. If you were the type of person to prove to him you were really ready for a change, he would invest time into you.

The right mentor will shorten your learning curve more than you can ever imagine. Reading books are cool but you still have to figure out a lot by yourself. I struggled for years trying to find the right business and the right things to do. When my mentor shared with me the proper things to do online, my life changed almost overnight. In September 2012 I earned less than $2000 that month. Within 3 months of coming in contact with my mentor I had my first $3000 profit day.

2.) Hard Work & Truth

I would love to say that no hard work was required to get to the stage I am at in my life right now. But the truth of the matter is, it took hard work. That is a problem with finding the right vehicle online, so many people are given misleading information which develops false expectations. I know people who quit on their dreams because they were sold this dream of just pushing one button and your whole life is going to change.

I will share the reality my mentor shared with me right now. He shared with me that in the beginning of starting your online business, you will have to work harder than you have ever worked before. He told me he could tell me a pipe dream but would rather tell me the truth. Which I really appreciated!

I decided if I was going to work hard , I was going to do something I was passionate about. My biggest passions involved personal development. I almost got burnt out at one point, reading all these books and listening to these audiobooks and not getting the results I thought I deserved. People would always tell me, “George you are wasting your time.” I knew I was destined for greatness though, ever since I was young. I just didn’t have a clear path how I was going to accomplish it before.

I can’t lie I was discouraged and even started to doubt myself after years of failure. I almost started to resent the books and audiotapes. Once again why a mentor was so important to me.

He explained to me that I was attracting everything I had in my life. Every decision I made up until this point has landed me where I was in life whether I liked it or not. He told me that everytime I wanted to blame someone else for my problems to just look in the mirror. He said, “Yes, maybe someone told you the wrong info before that set you back, but George you chose to listen to that information, so therefore it was your problem. When things are going great you don’t mind taking credit for that do you?”

A great mentor will challenge you to be better, but also tell you when you are doing great.

I did exactly what my mentor suggested in business.

1. Find solid products that will hold value for a long time.
2. Learn one advertising method that works over and over again
3. Learn to properly follow up with customers
4. Have a system in place that will enable you to be mobile
5. Make sure that when you go sleep, you feel great about the work you are doing

My mentor assisted me in handling all of them. The end result is that I went ,from a $2000 a month guy, with very little time freedom and stressed out about the future all of the time. To a 5 figure monthly earner with true freedom and a sense of security I have been searching for my entire life.

Let me rewind real quick. In April 2013 my wife and I moved into our new home. We have more than enough room for a nursery. It was truly a dream come true. We moved in couple months before our beautiful baby girl Gianna arrived into this world.

I know how much my mentor changed my life. I feel it in my soul to pay it forward. I know there are so many talented people out there struggling. I know with the right guidance they can reach heights they couldn’t even imagine. I have helped people with no prior experience online leave their jobs in under 6 months. When you have the right blueprint and people around you, success comes much faster than you think.

Long Lost Family

Ever had that one family member you wish you could see again? That one who left and vanished without a trace? I bet you never thought you would see them again, huh? Well it seems that ITV is going to answer all your prayers with their series ‘Long Lost Family’.

screen-shot-2013-06-19-at-18-20-02

The general layout of the television series is it starts with a tragic story of a person/s who have lost contact with a specific family member.  This person/s has been trying for years to get in touch with their long lost relative and each and every avenue they have searched has led them to a dead end. So now clinging on their very last strands of hope they are forced to call upon the help of a ..TV show desperately believing that a team of people will stumble upon something that they have missed and perhaps find there lost loved one. Eight times out of ten they do find the lost loved one and bring them together in a very emotional moment bursting at the seams with joy and love.

Davina McCall and Nicky Campbell are the face of this series and have hosted all three seasons and they are both planned to return to film series four.

The Daily Telegraph gave the show a mixed review “the presenters seemed to be trying slightly too hard to squeeze tears out of their interviewees“. They went on to say “I wonder what the producers would do if the two people they brought together, instead of embracing joyfully, launched into a furious rally of accusations and blame. Perhaps I’ll tune in next week to see whether it happens, although that will depend on whether I can stomach more of Pavlov’s Piano, or for that matter Davina McCall’s habit of talking to her interviewees, even the elderly ones, as if she were their proud mother, waving them off at the school gate“. The Daily Telegraph were not the only ones to give it a review The Guardian also had something to say but they had more positive feedback for the show “Within its own parameters, it succeeds quite nicely. Davina’s common touch remains infallible and her co-host Nicky Campbell’s almost pathological lack of charisma is obscured and alleviated by his status as an adopted son himself, makes the whole thing slightly less painful than it might have been“.

The Independent gave the show a mixed to positive review, they wrote; “It was all very warm and fuzzy and just what you’d expect, apart from the presenters, who struck me as an odd duo. His connection is obvious – adopted at four days old – hers rather less so. Still, she’s really rather good: none of the overgrown-yoof presenting she favours on Big Brother. I can’t imagine this continuing for more than a couple of series – it’s all a little one-trick: once you’ve got the hang of the tracking-down-strangers part, there’s only so much to be astonished about. But, for the meantime, it ain’t bad“. Sam Wollaston of The Guardian praised Long Lost Family calling it “very good” and “so much more interesting than the programme Who Do You Think You Are?“. He went on to say “It’s so moving because it’s real, and it’s about separation and hurt, guilt and regret, growing up, identity, belonging, family, love, life. Now I’m blubbing, like a baby.

Well Sam Wollaston I completely agree with you sir. This show is probably the onlyhappy-cuteness-overload-l TV show to have made me literally cry sitting on my couch. I don’t understand how or why this happened. Whenever the closing credits began to roll I would find myself in a sobbing mess on the floor surrounded by tissues..in a good way. I would truly recommend this to anyone who needs to fell good and just have a good, what I call, a good joy-cry. What it is for me is, this series carries a very important message, in fact it carries several in addition to what Mr. Wollaston said earlier. Persistence, redemption, new beginnings, faith, forgiveness and hope. I absolutely watched every episode that I could get my eyes on.

And it seems that my fellow British have agreed with me.

The series, which has just finished its third run, averaged a live overnight audience of 5.2 million viewers…making it the highest rating series yet.

Since its launch, Long Lost Family has consistently won its prime time weekday 9pm slot. The first series averaged a consolidated audience of 5 millions viewers, series two averaging 5.15 million and series three has leaped to an average audience of 5.9 million so far, [based on consolidated data].
Based on these statistics taken from the ITV website and the Press Centre it appears that many of us in the UK enjoy watching this series. I don’t know whether they all get all teary eyed like me but they enjoy it nonetheless. I loo forward to next series and I hope that you will all be watching along with me. If you have missed any episodes they are all available on the ITV Player website. Here is a link to the page  https://www.itv.com/itvplayer/
